Well I have been made aware of what is going on in the world and how it affects our kids, it seems like I hear something new and terrible everyday.
I know a 12 year old girl that was asked on Facebook to send naked pictures of herself to an adult, I know a 10 year old boy that has seen porn and was told about it at school, I hear stories of the talk at my daughters highschool. I hear from my daughter how hard it is to buy normal clothes and I have seen toddlers and tiaras. I have read of girls being raped and it being recorded on cell phones and then shared with numerous people and posted on the internet. I see advertising on tv that uses half naked women to sell their products and I see things in magazines that should be in Playboy and these are magazines geared towards our youth. I read stats and articles sharing this major problem that is changing people and not for the better. I see kids being made to grow up well before their time with low self esteem or an entitlement attitude. I see the future if this keeps happening with broken homes, selfish and emotionless people and others doing whatever to themselves to be noticed but noticed for how they look and not for who they are. I see our boys being brainwashed into what is important in a relationship and how much they can get out of a girl whether it is a real girl or a porn girl and I see our girls fighting to be noticed and to be loved no matter how they have to do it. It is sad and I want people to know that they do not have to buy into this, they can choose to be better and to value themselves and others. People can have good fullfilling lives but it does not come at the click of a mouse or in a size 0 jean either. Life is not perfect, life requires work and not immediate gratification and life has ups and downs in everythiing, that is why it is life and real life not fake. This is what makes life interesting and challenging and rewarding!!!!!
